Authors often have an intended message to the reader; on the other hand, the reader tends to interpret the message based on their own predispositions.  Many messages can be gleaned from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, including some ideas in the following prompts.  On a separate sheet, you will respond to the following prompts with at least a few sentences for each.  By doing this, you will be better equipped to determine if Fitzgerald’s messages have meaning to you.
